The Laser Guitar is a minor project that we built from an old guitar. It contains 6 laser sensors and a Leap Motion and is operated by an Arduino Due. When you interrupt the lasers, you can play midi from software of your choice, like Ableton, and use the Leap motion to control effects. The volume and tone knobs are controllable and act as volume to the track and effect sends. This project was shown at the Be Maker Fest VLC 2015, Maker Faire Paris 2016, and was used in a performance in Innovation En Vivo! Dec 2015.


Recently, Version 2 was made from a 3D printed shell and guitar neck. The operation has changed a bit to resemble the function of a guitar and an ultrasonic sensor was added to the neck to change the notes in accordance to the frets.
